MTCC Workshop 2020: “IMO’s Global Sulphur Cap”

IMPLEMENTATION OF IMO’S GLOBAL SULPHUR CAP AND ITS RELEVANT CHALLENGES

The World Maritime University, WMU, as the leading international postgraduate education and research institution and a centre of excellence for the promotion and advancement of shipping and related fields, will be partnering with the Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre for Africa (MTCC Africa), a centre that provides innovative technologies and solutions in curbing GreenHouse Gas emissions by the shipping and maritime industry through the sharing of technical expertise and discovering innovative ways to reduce the carbon emission in the sector.

In light of this, the above two mentioned institutions are partnering to host a workshop under the theme, ‘IMO’s Global Sulphur Cap’ as highlighted in Marpol Convention Annex VI. This will be a two-day training event between 18th – 20th March 2020. The workshop will be delivered in Mombasa Kenya focusing on best practices and challenges for the implementation of sulphur cap.
