On Tuesday, 17 August 2021, The Secretary General of PMAESA, Col. Andre Ciseau, paid a courtesy visit to the new Consul General of Uganda, Amb. Paul Mukumbya in his office based in Nyali, Mombasa. The main purpose of the visit was to officially welcome the new Consul General to Mombasa and update him on the various interactions the Secretariat has undertaken with the Consulate of Uganda offices, through his predecessor Amb. Katureebe Tayebwa.
Various issues of common interest were discussed, including: Need for Collaboration in the Development of the Lakes, Promotion of Cruise Tourism and Pleasure craft industry in the Lakes, Trade facilitation and promotion to create a wider market for not only the Uganda products but the entire region as well, need to find ways of creating integrated development of Ports and Cities and Blue Economy.
The Consul General, Amb. Paul Mukumbya appreciated the Secretary General of PMAESA for maintaining the good relationship and close collaboration with the Consulate Offices of Uganda, and promised to maintain that as well, through constant communication and interactions on various issues that may need their attention.
The meeting was also informed of the upcoming Uganda Agribusiness Syposium on the 8th and 9th September, 2021, where PMAESA will participate and the Secretary General of PMAESA will be one of the moderators of the panel discussion.
