The Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) successfully convened its Board and Council Meeting in Durban, South Africa—marking an important milestone in the Association’s realignment and reactivation of its statutory governance processes.

Hosted by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) in partnership with KGG Events, the meeting underscored the renewed collaboration within the regional port and maritime community.

Strengthening Governance and Institutional Alignment

After several years of disruptions—driven by financial constraints, leadership transitions, impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and fluctuations in membership activity—PMAESA’s 2025 end-of-year meetings signal a renewed commitment to strong governance and institutional stability.

William Ruto (Kenya Ports Authority), Dr. George Fasha (Tanzania Ports Authority), and Dr. Egbert Moustache (Seychelles Ports Authority) in commending the Secretariat for steering the Association forward with professionalism and diligence.

Board Members also noted steady progress in the implementation of the PMAESA Strategic Plan 2024–2028, acknowledging the Secretariat’s deliberate efforts in ensuring that set targets remain realistic and achievable.
