The Secretary General of PMAESA, Col. Andre Ciseau paid a courtesy call to the Director General of Kenya Coast Guard Service (KCGS), Mr. Bruno I. Shioso, EBS, OGW at his office in Liwatoni, Mombasa.
This meeting follows after the participation of both KCGS and PMAESA (as an observer) in the recently concluded Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS) Steering Committee meeting hosted by CRIMARIO, held in Cebu, the Philippines, from 21 to 23 May 2025 on matters of port safety and security.
The courtesy call enabled PMAESA and KCGS to appraise each other on the activities undertaken by respective organizations, share experiences and devise a framework of collaboration for structured engagement.
Going forward, the two institutions committed to form a technical working group to further look into areas of collaboration on Maritime Safety & Security, Environmental Protection & Sustainability, specific activities for the Lakes & Inland Waterways, capacity building initiatives, community engagement as well as awareness programs.
Col. Ciseau also had the pleasure of presenting the PMAESA @50 Commemorative Handbook and PMAESA Strategic plan 2024-2028.
In exchange, Mr Shioso presented to PMAESA the Kenya Coast Guard Service Strategic Plan 2023/24-2027/28.
