Presentation of AMCBEC 2023 Conference Report to State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs – Kenya

The Steering Committee of the African Maritime Cabotage and Blue Economy Conference (AMCBEC) led by PMAESA Secretary General Col Andre Ciseau, officially presented the Africa Maritime Cabotage and Blue Economy Conference (AMCBEC 2023) report, to Principal Secretary – State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs (Kenya), Hon. Geoffrey Kaituko in Nairobi.

The Steering Committee also included representatives from The Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) Ag. Director General, Mr Isaiah Nakoru, Maritime Organization of Eastern, Southern and Northern Africa (MOESNA) Secretary General, Mr Daniel Kiange and The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) represented by Mr Mwinyi Jahazi.

The technical level meeting discussed on the need for on a detailed road map for implementation of conference recommendations.

On his part, Mr Kaituko thanked members of the steering committee and further reaffirmed his support to the AMCBEC steering committee and welcomed the proposal of holding the 2nd Edition of the AMCBEC in 2025.

The AMCBEC 2023 event held in November 2023 in Mombasa under the theme: “Unlocking the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Potential by Rethinking Maritime Cabotage and Blue Economy for Improved Connectivity” brought together brought together over 300 distinguished industry experts, policymakers, academia, and sector players from Africa and further afield.
